Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds on May 9 signed legislation that, in part, boosts funding for the state’s renewable fuel infrastructure program that helps retail fuel stations install equipment to supply higher blends of ethanol and biodiesel.
The U.S. EPA, USDA and U.S. Food and Drug Administration on May 8 released a plan developed by the agencies to update, streamline and clarify their regulations and oversight mechanisms for products of biotechnology.
The USDA on April 23 awarded more than $43 million in grants through the Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program to support projects that will increase the availability of domestic biofuels in 15 states.
Growth Energy on April 15 celebrated another successful round of applications for the USDA’s HBIIP). During the most recent application window, Growth Energy helped write grant applications for 39 different retailers comprising 198 stores.
New Mexico will be the fourth state in the U.S. to pass a clean fuel standard.
