SIUE Pilot Plant Could Open in August

The $20 million corn-to-ethanol pilot research plant at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville may start up as soon as August, plant manager Rodney J. Bothast said in an article printed in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (Missouri) June 19. Bothast said last week that the opening of the National Corn to Ethanol Research Plant had been delayed from its projected spring opening because most of the machinery in the plant had to be custom made, and some parts took longer than originally estimated.
