A group of investors hopes to convert sugary syrups and other waste liquids into ethanol in Ohio, the Akron Beacon Journal (Ohio) reported July 9. Liquid Resources of Ohio LLC, headed by Tim Curtiss and other investors, announced this month that it has signed an agreement to purchase a chemical distribution plant near the Medina County (Ohio) fairgrounds. It will reportedly be several months before production can begin, but Liquid Resources has an agreement with international food and agriculture giant Cargill Inc. to distribute the ethanol, the newspaper reported.
