RDA set to deliver affordable ethanol for Australia

By Renewable Developments Australia Pty Ltd. | January 12, 2017

Renewable Developments Australia Pty Ltd. is fast approaching the delivery of the first of its planned five large scale bioethanol farms and production facilities to supply ethanol for the Australian and export markets.

The fully integrated bioethanol facility will deliver one of the lowest cost renewable fuels in the world; grown, produced and manufactured on Australian soil. This will be the beginning of a major industry for Queensland and Australia.

The economic benefits for Queensland and Australia for the first facility alone will create 500 construction jobs, 200 on-going farm and plant operation jobs and 600 indirect jobs for the next 60 years and beyond.

The 190 million liters per annum of renewable ethanol fuel will be produced from sugarcane and sweet sorghum grown near the town of Charters Towers in North Queensland, injecting a much-needed economic boost for the region.

RDA has invited major Australian fuel companies to purchase the ethanol for the Australian market via a recently released tender which will deliver competitively priced ethanol, substantially lower than current bowser prices. The tender will support the Queensland and New South Wales governments’ bio-fuels mandates and is an opportunity to lower Australia’s carbon emissions.

With the support of the Federal Government’s Australian Renewable Energy Agency, RDA has fully progressed the project to the final stages for financial close.

This is an exciting opportunity for all Australians.
