The U.S. EPA has released renewable identification number (RIN) generation data for October, reporting that nearly 1.68 billion RINs were generated during the month, including 29.5 million cellulosic RINs.

Nearly 28.97 million D3 cellulosic biofuel RINs were generated in October, including 19.77 million for renewable compressed natural gas generated by domestic producers, 5.74 million for renewable liquefied natural gas by domestic producers, 1.91 million for renewable liquefied natural gas by importers, 1.11 million for renewable compressed natural gas by importers, and 439,426 for cellulosic ethanol by domestic producers.

Since the beginning of the year, nearly 225.21 million D3 RINs have been generated, including 157.02 million for renewable compressed natural gas, 60.56 million for renewable liquefied natural gas, and 7.62 million for cellulosic ethanol.

According to the EPA, 533,819 D7 cellulosic diesel RINs were generated in October, all for cellulosic heating oil by importers.

Since the beginning of 2018, more than 2.04 million D7 RINs have been generated, including 2.056 million for cellulosic heating oil and 6,620 for cellulosic diesel.

Nearly 26.78 million D5 advanced biofuel RINs were generated in October, including 19.29 million for ethanol by importers, 3.1 million for nonester renewable diesel by domestic producers, 2.23 million for naphtha by domestic producers, 2.05 million for ethanol by domestic producers, 55.731 for renewable heating oil by domestic producers and 18.751 for renewable compressed natural gas by domestic producers.

Since the beginning of the year, nearly 101.32 million D5 RINs have been generated, including 64.37 million for ethanol, 17.78 million for nonester renewable diesel, 16.88 million for naphtha, 1.22 million for renewable heating oil, and 1.06 million for renewable compressed natural gas.

Nearly 1.27 billion D6 renewable fuel RINs were generated in October, including 1.27 billion for ethanol by domestic producers, 1.14 million for ethanol by importers and 331,927 for biodiesel by domestic producers.

Since the beginning of the year, nearly 12.5 billion D6 RINs have been generated for ethanol, with 92.97 generated for nonester renewable diesel and 331,927 generated for biodiesel.

Nearly 227.28 million D4 biomass-based diesel RINs were generated in October, including 170.82 million for biodiesel by domestic producers, 35.91 million for nonester renewable diesel by domestic producers, 20.32 million for biodiesel by importers and 229,089 for renewable jet fuel by domestic producers.

Since the beginning of 2018, more than 1.65 billion D4 RINs have been generated for biodiesel, with 364.73 million generated for nonester renewable diesel and 1.4 million generated for renewable jet fuel.

According to the EPA, nearly 14.94 billion RINs were generated during the first 10 months of the year.
