Winrock International, a nonprofit organization, and the University of Arkansas are seeking a $1.5 million grant to study cellulosic ethanol production, according to Annett Pagan, director of U.S. programs at Winrock International. If the organizations receive the USDA and U.S. DOE grant, the funds would be used to evaluate ethanol production using three feedstocks: switchgrass, giant reed and Miscanthus. Grant notification could come by late summer or early fall.
