Iowa renewable fuels bill sent to governor

By | June 01, 2006
The Iowa House of Representatives recently passed a renewable fuels standard for the state that imposes some of the loftiest requirements in America. The bill was forwarded to Gov. Tom Vilsack in April for signature and awaits the completion of formal procedures necessary to become state law. HF 2754 mandates that 25 percent of all fuels in Iowa be renewable by 2019; and creates retail tax credits for ethanol and biodiesel, and programs designed to help offset the cost of bringing E85 and biodiesel to consumers.
