Hawkeye Renewables planned to start ethanol production at its 100 MMgy Fairbank, Iowa, facility in May, according to company Vice President of Manufacturing and Technology Donovan Prinsloo. The Iowa Renewable Fuels Association (IRFA) said the plant came on line May 24. Hawkeye Renewables also has a 95 MMgy ethanol plant in Iowa Falls, Iowa, making it the nation's third-largest ethanol producer. Fagen Inc. and ICM Inc. designed and built both plants. The company recently filed for an initial public offering in order to become publicly traded.
