Cambridge, Mass.-based Mascoma Corp., a leader in cellulosic biomass-to-biofuels development and production, is a recipient of the Red Herring 100 spring award, an honor that recognizes the top 100 private technology companies in North America. Red Herring, a global media company that unites the world's best technology innovators, venture investors and business decision makers in a variety of forums, evaluated more than 800 private companies before announcing the award recipients. The honor is Mascoma's second prestigious designation in one month, following the first-ever Lemelson-MIT Award for Sustainability that was given to Mascoma cofounder and Dartmouth Engineering Professor Dr. Lee Lynd.
