Corn for ethanol surpasses exports

By | June 05, 2007
The USDA's initial assessment has been issued for crop supply and demand projections in 2007-2008. Total corn use is up even though feed and export use is down, the USDA reported. However, corn for ethanol production spiked up 58 percent from the previous year, hitting a projected 3.4 billion bushels, which surpasses exports. Increased distillers grains availability from the expanding ethanol industry helped to push projected corn feeding down 3 percent.
