The assets and staff of Renessen LLC, a company jointly owned by Cargill Inc. and Monsanto Co., have been reabsorbed into their respective parent companies, according to Doug Rushing, Renessen director of government and public affairs. Although the Deerfield, Ill., office has closed, Monsanto reported in an October U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing that affiliated projects have progressed, and plans are ongoing to commercialize a corn fractionation technology marketed under the name Extrax. Rushing said negotiations with producers interested in licensing the fractionation system have been positive.
