Neogen launches aflatoxin test for corn

By | January 01, 2008
Neogen Corp. recently developed a test method to determine the general level of possible aflatoxin contamination in corn. The trademarked Reveal for Aflatoxin SQ is formatted similar to a home pregnancy test. A test strip is immersed in a sample that has been extracted from the process. After five minutes, the test, which uses the company's trademarked Reveal AccuScan III System, can return results in the ranges of less than 10 parts per billion, 10 to 20 ppb, or greater than 20 ppb. Neogen develops, manufactures and markets products dedicated to food and animal safety. The food safety division is based in Lansing, Mich.
