The Southern African Biofuels Alliance, a non-profit organization that seeks to facilitate the establishment of a viable biofuels industry in South Africa, recently joined forces with the Global Renewable Fuels Alliance to promote biofuel-friendly policies around the world.

The Global Renewable Fuels Alliance is a non-profit organization that seeks to promote the expanded use of renewable fuels through the advocacy of sound public policy, responsible research, and the development of new technology.

According to SABA president Andrew Makenete, biofuels represent an enormous opportunity for developing countries. He said a sustainable biofuels industry would help attract investment in agriculture and improve income levels while reducing reliance on imported energy.
