Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Support plant operations ensuring maximum production quantity and quality while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the Company. Responsible for mechanical systems preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Repairs or replaces plant equipment or systems on a scheduled or emergency basis. Responsible for welding, piping, and millwright functions. Assists with diagnosing and troubleshooting maintenance-related issues. Troubleshooting and calibration of electrical controls and instrumentation systems. Learn and interpret electrical and piping schematics as well as mechanical systems documentation. Learn and complete daily Preventative Maintenance requests. Interface and operate computerized maintenance management software. Required to use hand tools, power tools, forklifts, gauges, measurement tools, and manuals. Participate in programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness. Be available for overtime work on a scheduled or call-in basis.; Maintain and enforce all safety policies and procedures. Maintain a TEAM environment with all plant employees. An employee with any known allergen including, but not limited to, nuts, gluten, livestock, penicillin, etc., shall make it known to CIE after a conditional offer of employment. Food Safety Production Areas Have a basic understanding of the GMPs and Food Security. Notify the Food Safety Manager and or Supervisor of any repairs or adjustments that are required. ; Perform Basic Sanitation Functions. Perform all duties necessary to meet the CIE’s and or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by HACCP and FSSC 22000. Notify the Food Safety Manager or any other Management personnel of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues. Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system. Identify problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the raw material, processes, quality system, or safety system by performing Production/Quality Checks as assigned. Controls further processing or delivery of non-conforming products in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

In this role, you'll be responsible for continuously monitoring plant operations to ensure optimal production and quality, proactively addressing and solving issues as they arise. Duties include inspecting various plant areas to troubleshoot problems, reviewing processes such as slurry, fermentation, distillation, and evaporation to maintain product quality, and certifying ethanol. You'll document process variables, manage chemical inventories, and coordinate with the lab and maintenance teams to address issues and optimize efficiency. Safety protocols must be followed, including handling chemicals according to safety sheets and participating in safety and environmental programs. Additionally, you’ll cross-train with other operators for coverage, participate in efficiency projects, and perform scheduled work requests, all while maintaining a safe and reliable operation.

Starch Technology Engineer – Clinton, IA Wet Mill Corn Processing Plant – Starch Department ADM Corn Technology Group This is an exempt level position Position Summary: The Carbohydrate Solutions Technology Group supports starch plant process areas related the following: Common starch for the purpose of fibersol production and for commercial sale Industrial modified starches including acid-modified, oxidized, cationic and cross-linked These are produced through the following primary unit operations: Starch batch chemical reaction Dewatering presses Dewatering centrifuges Flash drying Pneumatic conveying Pneumatic dry product mixing Dust collection Dry bulk loading systems Disk stack centrifuges Pumping This position will primarily support the continuous improvement and optimization of the Clinton, IA starch department, while also sharing knowledge and collaborating with colleagues across ADM’s other corn Wet Milling and dry grinding facilities in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska. The technology engineer will apply engineering principles to new and existing facilities with tasks ranging from process design to the evaluation and implementation of new technologies. They will ensure plant process systems are designed, built, operated, and maintained at safe and optimal levels The technology engineer will play a critical role in helping ADM achieve its energy intensity and sustainability goals through improvements in reliability, efficiency and yield recovery. Essential Job Functions: Display a dedication to lead, develop and support safety and promote a safety culture. Promote continuous process safety improvement. Benchmark the location’s starch process versus internal and external best in class technologies and drive improvements. Manage and prioritize the Starch department’s project portfolio through Wave in cooperation with the Department Superintendent and the Wet Milling Technology Manager. Develop and maintain a 5-year project portfolio to include capital budgeting and execution while maintaining a balance between NDE, Cost Improvement, and productivity/growth. Work in collaboration with other Global Operations teams to ensure alignment of technology for process improvements. Explore, evaluate, propose, and/or champion new process technologies and equipment suppliers. Work within Carbohydrates Technology Group to replicate best practices, standardize operations, and share standard methodologies across Wet Milling locations globally. Assist and provide technical support to starch department operations in solving technical process problems. Contribute to technical knowledge development and sustainment by engaging in training and guidance documents. Support and collaborate with the starch department in setting up goals and KPI’s. Work closely with company subject matter experts on the implementation of innovative approaches to plant operation and maintenance. Act as a resource for plant process engineers through coaching, mentoring, and conducting training sessions. Required Skills: Dedication to working safely and to the awareness for the safety of others. Strong knowledge of process unit operations, including (but not limited to) the following: batch production methods, dewatering presses, dewatering centrifuges, flash drying, pneumatic conveying, pneumatic dry product mixing, disk stack centrifuges and dry bulk loading systems. Experience with process optimization using analytical processes and tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with plant engineers, operators, and management. Working knowledge of common process drawings and documentation, such as P&IDs, PFDs, Material & Energy Balances, and control narratives. Willingness to spend time in plant areas – tolerate extreme temperatures, walk long distances, stand, climb stairs and ladders, and move through close spaces. Ability to work effectively on a team, as well as independently, while traveling to remote plant locations to provide support on site as deemed necessary. High level of motivation and results-oriented way of working. Some travel with overnight stay required. Required Education: Bachelor's of Science Degree in the fields of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Processing, Production Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related field. Required Experience: Minimum 3-5 years’ experience with plant process production systems. Desired Experience: Production/Process/Project Engineer with operations supervision experience is a considered a plus. Excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement listed?
