Petro-Canada, one of Canada's largest oil and gas companies, recently inked a deal making the company the sole purchaser of all ethanol produced at GreenField Ethanol's plant in Varennes, Quebec. "We are proud of this partnership because it enables us to provide consumers with blended gasoline containing up to 10 percent ethanol produced right here in Quebec," said Mel Broten, Petro-Canada's general manager of integration and planning. The plant officially opened in late June and is expected to produce around 32 MMgy of ethanol from 12 million bushels of corn grown in the province.
