Green Plains decommissions Virginia plant, closes on Valero sale


On Nov. 15, Green Plains Inc. announced it is permanently closing its 60 MMgy ethanol plant in Hopewell, Virginia. The company also announced it has closed on the previously announced sale of three ethanol plants to Valero Renewable Fuels Co. LLC.

On Nov. 16, the U.S. EPA released updated data on small refinery hardship waivers filed under the Renewable Fuel Standard showing that no new petitions were filed or approved between Oct. 10 and Nov. 10.
