Green Plains decommissions Virginia plant, closes on Valero sale On Nov. 15, Green Plains Inc. announced it is permanently closing its 60 MMgy ethanol plant in Hopewell, Virginia. The company also announced it has closed on the previously announced sale of three ethanol plants to Valero Renewable Fuels Co. LLC. READ MORE SHARE
European Parliament approves REDII The European Parliament approved new targets for renewables, energy efficiency and second-generation biofuels when it voted to confirm a provisional agreement reached with the European Council in June on a revised Renewable Energy Directive (REDII). 	EPA: No new small refinery waivers filed, approved in past month On Nov. 16, the U.S. EPA released updated data on small refinery hardship waivers filed under the Renewable Fuel Standard showing that no new petitions were filed or approved between Oct. 10 and Nov. 10. READ MORE SHARE
EPA: 29.5 million cellulosic RINs generated in October The U.S. EPA has released renewable identification number (RIN) generation data for October, reporting that nearly 1.68 billion RINs were generated during the month, including 29.5 million cellulosic RINs. READ MORE SHARE

EPA approves efficient producer pathway for Indiana plant The U.S. EPA has approved an efficient producer pathway for The Andersons Clymers Ethanol LLC, allowing the facility to generate renewable identification numbers (RINs) for non-grandfathered volumes of ethanol. READ MORE SHARE
EPA extends comment period on RFS information collection request The U.S. EPA is extending the comment period on a previously announced information collection request (ICR) that aims to consolidate and update recordkeeping and reporting burden and cost estimates related to the Renewable Fuel Standard program. USGC announces new ethanol programs coordinator Turquoise Adams joined the U.S. Grains Council on Nov. 5 as the ethanol programs coordinator at the organization’s Washington, D.C., headquarters. In this role, Adams will support the ethanol and economics team. READ MORE SHARE
USGC DDGS promotion efforts in Taiwan lead to increased sales Some of the new generation of livestock nutritionists in Taiwan lack of experience with U.S. distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS).
