EPA schedules 2014 RFS public hearing

On Nov. 21, the U.S. EPA published a notice in the Federal Register announcing a public hearing will be held on Dec. 5 in Washington, D.C. on the 2014 renewable fuel standard (RFS) proposed rule.

According to the EPA, the hearing will be held at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, Va. The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end when all parties present who wish to speak have had the opportunity to do so. Those wishing to testify should contact Julia MacAllister of the EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality by Nov. 26. Contact information is available in the Federal Register notice here.

According to the notice, the public hearing will provide a means for interested parties to present data, views or arguments pertaining to the proposed rule. While representatives of the EPA may ask clarifying questions during the event, they will not respond to the information at that time. Comments will also be accepted in written form for 60 days one the proposed rule is published in the Federal Register.
