Applied Biorefinery Sciences (ABS) is scaling biorefining technolgy that is expected to massively improve the economics of cellulosic ethanol processes by recovering added value while making biomass accessible to enzymes. ABS's approach enables additional value recovery and minimizes inhibitors in sugar streams, while avoiding harsh chemistries (and associated costs) in pretreatment. Built on equipment and experience from the pulp and paper industry, ABS's approach is expected to be robust and provide a strong business case with reasonable yields and low CI.
