Position Overview The yard operator technician will be responsible for safe and efficient operation and maintenance of corn, Dried Distillers Grains with Solubles (DDGS), Modified Distillers Grains with Solubles (MDGS), and ethanol unloading/loading systems and equipment. This position will be responsible for safe and efficient operation and maintenance of heavy equipment which may include a skid steer, front end loader, telehandler and rail mover to perform loading and grounds keeping tasks. Some duties include collecting and reporting weights and grades, moving rail cars on rail sidings, driving motorized vehicles on and off the company’s worksite to load and unload railcars, and maintaining effective written and verbal communication of operational and maintenance issues related to assigned systems and equipment. Work schedule will primarily be 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday. Must have the flexibility to work early mornings, evenings and weekends. Employee will be expected to work extra hours if necessary to complete scheduled tasks. This may include short notice to meet unit/car arrivals and/or departure deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license Employee must live within 1 hour drive time from plant location Preferred Qualifications: Heavy equipment operation experience Previous experience loading and unloading by rail or truck Experience moving railroad cars Prior grain handling experience Mechanical/maintenance/equipment troubleshooting experience Experience adhering strictly to regulatory and safety standards Experience with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Experience weighing and/or grading grain
