Job Description
To build upon a track record of growth and success in the Bioprocess Industry, we are seeking a Bioprocess Technology Director to oversee the activities of the Engineering Group, Production Shop, Technical Services, and Project Management of our Bioprocess Division. This individual will manage all aspects of product and process engineering, design, fabrication, and testing. This position is based out of Dexter MI and would report directly to our Vice President of Bioprocess Solutions. An ideal candidate is someone who is very hands on and is able to understand product and engineering processes to help drive success within the division.
Managing the Engineering Department and Production Shop including the review of product specifications received from Sales; scheduling and assigning tasks; and coordinating work of the engineering and production staff.
Lead the engineering staff with product concept and design including developing new product concepts and designs to meet customer requirements and market opportunities.
Develop and administer procedures and methods to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
Product Optimization, identify opportunities to optimize existing products for enhanced user experience and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with relevant teams to implement improvements.
New Product Development, collaborate closely with the marketing team to identify and develop new products that increase customer lifetime value (LTV) and meet market demands.
Engage with customers to inform product strategy and ensure alignment with their expectations.
Review job releases for thoroughness (ex. bill of materials, schematics, layouts, etc.) and generate product documentation including schematics, parts layouts, customer manuals, and ECOs.
Ensure current and accurate costing of jobs; assist Sales with quotations, product specifications, and customer support, and improving product designs by reducing component and labor costs.
Develop and lead overall vendor relationship management programs and assist field personnel with field installations, startup, and troubleshooting.
Mentor and motivate team to perform at their highest level, including ensuring team members have appropriate training and resources and manage personnel related matters (ex. recruiting, performance reviews, open-door discussions, and addressing disciplinary or performance problems according to company policy).
Collaborate with sales teams and company leadership to identify develop plan for strategic partnerships engagements.
Perform other miscellaneous non-recurring special projects on daily, weekly and/or monthly basis.
Perform other related duties or special projects.
Comply with all aspects of the Trucent safety program, including but not limited to: hazard communication, PPE requirements and attending quarterly safety training.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics.
Job Requirements
Education: A bachelor's degree in engineering is required. Advanced degrees are desired.
Experience: A minimum of 15 years of experience in a process or manufacturing engineering discipline including strong modular design, project management, product development, P&L, and leadership skills.

Travel up to 30% of the time.
