Total operatable U.S. biofuel capacity dipped slightly in March, with reductions for both ethanol and biodiesel, according to data released by the U.S. EIA on May 29. Capacity for renewable diesel and associated fuels held steady.
U.S. fuel ethanol production fell by 2% the week ending May 22, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on May 28. Ethanol stocks expanded slightly while exports fell by 32%.
Rex American Resources Inc. released fiscal first quarter results on May 28, reporting the capacity expansion at its One Earth Energy LLC facility in Illinois remains on track for completion later this year.
Três Tentos Agroindustrial on May 20 announced it has received approval from Brazil’s National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) to begin production at a corn ethanol plant in Porto Alegre do Norte, Mato Grosso, Brazil.
More than 1.93 billion RINs were generated under the RFS in April, up 3% when compared to the same month of last year, according to data released by the U.S. EPA on May 21. Total RIN generation for the first four months of 2026 reached 7.51 billion.
