Total ethanol production in Brazil is expected to fall by approximately 8% this year, according to a report filed with the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service on Aug. 31. Ethanol consumption, however, is expected to increase by nearly 4%.
Legislation introduced in the California State Assembly on Sept. 11 aims to prevent the California Air Resources Board from amending the state’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard regulations prior to Jan. 1, 2026.

U.S. fuel ethanol production was up 4% the week ending Sept. 6, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Sept. 11. Stocks of fuel ethanol were up nearly 2% and exports were up 95%.
