Commodities: Energy, ethanol prices continue dropping sharply

The USDA predicts FY 2025 U.S. ethanol export volumes will reach a record 1.85 billion gallons, according to the agency’s latest quarterly trade outlook. The forecast is up slightly when compared to the previous quarterly outlook.
Representatives of the RFA, USGC and Growth Energy on March 13 signed a quadripartite MOU with Vietnam-based Petrolimex that recognizes the economic, environmental, health and energy security benefits of increased ethanol use.
As the Philippines moves toward unlocking the potential of SAF, the USGC collaborated with the Philippines Department of Transportation and Boeing to conduct the first Philippines SAF Summit in Manila.
The USGC escorted a delegation of more than 20 energy sector stakeholders and government officials to the 30th National Ethanol Conference, held in Nashville, Tennessee. USGC President and CEO Ryan LeGrand spoke about ethanol markets at the event.
U.S. fuel ethanol production fell by nearly 3% the week ending March 7, according to date released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on March 12. Ethanol stocks were up slightly and exports expanded by 32%.
