The U.S. Energy Information Administration increased its forecast for 2026 fuel ethanol production in its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, released Aug. 11. The outlook for 2026 fuel ethanol exports also increased.
The current issue of Ethanol Producer Magazine focuses on plant improvement projects, product diversification and tax incentives.
Gevo Inc. on Aug. 6 announced it has cancelled plans to develop a SAF project in South Dakota. Rather, the company remains focused on its North Dakota operations, including plans to expand ethanol production capacity and develop a 30 MMgy SAF plant.
Green Plains Inc. on Aug. 6 released second quarter financial results, reporting solid earnings on higher ethanol crush margins, robust domestic and export demand, and strong operational performance.
Alto Ingredients Inc. released second quarter financial results on Aug. 5, reporting increased net sales, gross profit and adjusted EBITDA. Crush margins were up significantly during the quarter, with production volumes up slightly.
