U.S. fuel ethanol production expanded by 1% the week ending June 6, reaching a record high 1.12 million barrels per day. The previous record was at 1.119 million barrels per day in November 2024.
Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds on June 11 vetoed H.F. 639, a controversial bill that would have effectively prevented CCS projects from being developed within the state. Biofuel stakeholders are applauding her decision.
Total U.S. biofuels production, including ethanol, renewable diesel, biodiesel and other biofuels, including SAF, averaged a record 1.39 million barrels per day last year, according to data released by the U.S. EIA on June 9.
The U.S. Energy Information Administration increased its forecast for 2025 fuel ethanol production in its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook, released June 10. The forecasts for 2025 and 2026 ethanol exports were also revised up.
Oswego County, New York, on June 6 announced the former Attis Ethanol plant and grain malting operation will be sold via an auction conducted by Collar City Auctions Realty & Management Inc. Bidding is set to begin June 17 and close July 12.
