The U.S. EPA on Oct. 15 released 2023 data collected under its Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program, including data on CO2 sequestration volumes at operational carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) projects at three U.S. ethanol plants.
The USDA on Sept. 30 published a final rule implementing several policy and procedure revisions for its OneRD Guarantee Loan Program, which houses several of the agency’s loan programs, including the Rural Energy for America Program.
CapCO2 Solutions has signed an MOU with Methylennium Energy. The two companies can capture waste CO2 produced at ethanol plants and use it to make green methanol. An initial project is expected to be operational in 2025.
Average U.S. ethanol plant earnings are currently stable and expected to continue the same trajectory, according to CoBank’s latest Quarterly Research Report, released Oct. 10. Production levels and exports are expected to remain high.
Green Plains Inc. on Oct. 1 announced that its subsidiary, Birmingham BioEnergy Partners LLC has completed the sale of its unit train terminal in Birmingham, Alabama, to Lincoln Terminal Company LLC.
