The USDA maintained its outlook for 2024-’25 corn use in ethanol production in its latest World Agricultural and Supply Estimates report, released Oct. 11. The estimate for 2023-’24 corn use in ethanol production was revised up.
U.S. corn production is currently forecast at 15.2 billion bushels, up slightly when compared to last month’s outlook, according to the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service’s latest Crop Production report, released Oct. 11.
The IEA on Oct. 9 published its annual Renewables market report, which for the first time includes a chapter focused on renewable fuels that outlines expected growth in liquid biofuels, including SAF, biogas, and other forms of bioenergy through 2030.
Bunge Global SA on Oct. 1 announced that it has completed the previously announced sale of its 50% share in Brazil-based BP Bunge Bioenergia to bp. With the transaction complete, bp now owns 100% of the business.
USGC Regional Ethanol Manager for the EU, U.K. and Canada Stephanie Larson in September met with Canadian officials to discuss how the U.S. industry can further support the country’s ongoing transition to higher ethanol blending rates.
