U.S. fuel ethanol production was up less than 1% the week ending Dec. 6, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Dec. 11. Stocks of fuel ethanol were down nearly 2% and exports were down more than 2%.
The European Union and Mercosur, a South American trade bloc consisting of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, on Dec. 5 finalized negotiations on a new trade agreement. The agreement could increase the volume of ethanol imported into the EU.
The USGC’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) office recently conducted a series of site visits and meetings with key customers in the animal feed production and industrial starch sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
U.S. Grains Council Regional Ethanol Manager for the EU, United Kingdom and Canada Stephanie Larson traveled to Brussels, Belgium, recently to participate in the World Ethanol and Biofuels Conference.
The U.S. exported 143.47 million gallons of ethanol and 1.11 million metric tons of distillers grains in October, according to data released by the USDA on Dec. 5. Exports of both products were up when compared to the same month of 2023.
