Specialized hygiene strategies, increasingly layered with automation, are helping today’s ethanol plants stay healthy. Consistent, accurate monitoring is the key.
U.S. fuel ethanol production was up more than 6 percent the week ending Dec. 1, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Dec. 6. Ethanol stocks were up slightly, and exports were down 50 percent.
The U.S. exported 117.09 million gallons of ethanol and 896,708 metric tons of distillers grains in October, according to data released by the USDA on Dec. 6. Exports of both products were up when compared to October 2022.
On Nov. 30, 2023, the New York Times ran an article about the role bioethanol made from corn will play in building a market for SAF. Growth Energy CEO Emily Skor submitted a letter in response disputing several claims made in the article.
Clariant on Dec. 6 announced its decision to shut down its sunliquid bioethanol production in Podari, Romania, and to downsize related activities of the business line Biofuels & Derivatives in Germany.
