UNICA, the Brazilian sugarcane industry association, has announced sugarcane processing and ethanol production during the first half of September remained higher than last year despite the impact of recent fires. Ethanol sales were up slightly.
In late August, representatives from the U.S. Grains Council and the U.S. ethanol industry embarked on an exploratory mission to China, aimed at gaining critical insights into the country’s ethanol market and policy landscape.
The California Assembly on Oct. 1 voted in favor of a bill that aims to allow the sale of E15 fuel blends within the state. California is the only state that has not approved the sale of E15, a gasoline blend that contains up to 15% ethanol.
On Sept. 26, Iowa’s cost-share Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Program awarded $4 million in grants for Iowa fuel retail locations to add E15 to 86 retail sites. Iowa regulations require retailers to offer E15 by Jan. 21, 2026.
