Specialized hygiene strategies, increasingly layered with automation, are helping today’s ethanol plants stay healthy. Consistent, accurate monitoring is the key.
U.S. fuel ethanol production was up more than 6 percent the week ending Dec. 1, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Dec. 6. Ethanol stocks were up slightly, and exports were down 50 percent.
The U.S. exported 117.09 million gallons of ethanol and 896,708 metric tons of distillers grains in October, according to data released by the USDA on Dec. 6. Exports of both products were up when compared to October 2022.
UNICA, the Brazilian sugarcane industry association, has announced sugarcane processing was up during the first half of November. Ethanol production and sales were also up when compared to the same period of 2022.
U.S. Grains Council staff and member representatives in November visited Lagos and Abuja to engage with policymakers and market players regarding the possibility of Nigeria lifting the current suspension of its E10 mandate.
