The U.S. exported more than 150 million gallons of ethanol and nearly 918,000 tons of distillers grains in April, according to data released by the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service on June 6. Exports of both products were down when compared to April 2018.
The USDA&rsquo;s data shows U.S. ethanol exports reached 150.17 million gallons in April, up from 140&nbsp; million gallons exported in March, but down from the 162.3 million gallons that were exported in April 2018.
During the first four months of 2019, the U.S. exported approximately 531.91 million gallons of ethanol, down from 684.33 million gallons exported during the same period of last year.
U.S. ethanol was exported to approximately 34 countries in April. Brazil was the top destination with 40.89 million gallons, followed by India with 34.1 million gallons, Canada with 31.02 million gallons, South Korea with 8.48 million gallons and the Philippines with 7.59 million gallons.
The USDA&rsquo;s data shows the value of April&rsquo;s ethanol exports reached $240.74 million, up from $234.26 million in March, but down from $290.95 million in April 2018.
The U.S. also exported 917,836 metric tons of distillers grains in April, down from 956,828 tons in March and 997,633 tons in April 2018.
Distillers grains were exported to approximately 39 countries during the month. Mexico was the top destination for U.S. distillers grains in April, with 182,229 tons, followed by South Korea with 107,488 tons, Vietnam with 89,464 tons, Thailand with 60,231 tons and Canada with 53,492 tons. &nbsp;
The USDA&rsquo;s data indicates the total value of April distillers grains exports was $195.35 million, down from $202.65 million in March and $203.8 million in April 2018.
