The U.S. exported 206.06 million gallons of ethanol and 1.1 million metric tons of distillers grains in June, according to data released by the USDA on Aug. 4. Exports of both products were up from the previous month and June 2025.
Bio-acetone coproduction alongside ethanol stands out as a new opportunity for product diversification.
In July, U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council Director of Global Sustainability Carlos F. Suárez traveled to India to join the Council’s South Asia team in promoting U.S. distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS) to aquaculture producers.
Lallemand Biofuels & Distilled Spirits and Braskem on July 28 announced an innovative bio-acetone production platform for the corn-ethanol industry that enables producers to generate a new coproduct alongside ethanol.
U.S. fuel ethanol producers consumed 472 million bushels of corn in May 2026, up significantly when compared to both the previous month and May 2025, according to the USDA’s latest Grain Crushings and Co-Products Production report.
