Job Description & Requirements
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Procurement and Inventory Manager to oversee procurement activities, maintain inventory control, and manage supplier relationships for our production needs. The role involves researching, evaluating, and sourcing vendors for materials, negotiating pricing and contracts, and monitoring market trends to address potential shortages or price fluctuations. You will ensure accurate inventory records, manage reorder points and lead times, and collaborate with management teams to prevent overstocking or shortages. Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, addressing performance issues, and ensuring timely deliveries are also key responsibilities. Additionally, you will coordinate logistics, ensure compliance with shipping regulations, and assist in budget management to achieve cost savings. Accurate documentation, reporting, and collaboration with internal teams will be required to support production schedules and special material needs for projects and maintenance.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED, and a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in manufacturing, chemicals, or energy-related industries, is required, with experience in an ethanol plant or similar process-based facility considered a plus. Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and purchasing software or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is necessary. Knowledge of the ethanol production process and related materials is an advantage. The candidate must be able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and distinguish between urgent and important needs.
Benefits
We offer a competitive benefits package including paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, and health, dental, and vision insurance. Our benefits also include company-sponsored short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and paid parental leave. In addition, we provide various ancillary benefits to support employees’ overall well-being.
