Job Description
The Maintenance/Operations Coordinator will improve workforce productivity by coordinating maintenance activities and by developing job plans, as well as managing the warehouse, Purchase maintenance and operational items through the CMMS system, and receive items into the CMMS system. The coordinator will be the liaison between maintenance, engineering, and operations and will assist the Maintenance Manager in ensuring all work activities are planned, estimated, and scheduled. This position will also carry the main responsibility for the implementation and effective operation of the CMMS system.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
1. Ensure that maintenance technicians are adequately trained and equipped so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
2. Commit to and comply with all safety policies and procedures to ensure zero injuries or incidents.
3. Assist Maintenance Manager to analyze and investigate all work requests and develop work order based job plans.
4. Assist Maintenance Manager to plan maintenance work, estimate time and resources, and schedule planned jobs. Work diligently with Maintenance Manager and the operations department to generate daily as well as weekly work plans and schedules.
5. Assist Maintenance Manager in the management of maintenance scheduling processes including daily and weekly management meetings.
6. Ensure parts, materials, and tools are appropriately requisitioned to complete planned jobs.
7. Manage warehouse to insure accurate and complete inventory.
8. Work with maintenance manager and engineering manager to support plant reliability and mechanical integrity programs.
9. Assist Maintenance Manager to oversee plant PM and PdM programs.
10. Track and report on appropriate metrics to monitor and improve maintenance performance and plant reliability.
11. Lead planning/scheduling effort for major plant turnarounds and equipment overhauls.
12. Assist with interviewing, hiring, and training maintenance employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Job Requirements
High school diploma required
Technical or bachelor degree preferred
Required Knowledge & Experience:
3-5 years experience in maintenance work with knowledge of mechanical and E/I disciplines
Experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, and estimating
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, equipment drawings, and P&IDs
Experience with Microsoft Project preferred
Experience with CMMS software preferred
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
Knowledge of general office equipment required

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
Some time will be spent in a temperature-controlled office-based environment at the plant office. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Able to view computer screen for lengths at a time. Significant time will be spent in the plant. All types of chemical industry equipment are used in the plant to include, but not limited to vessels, cookers, agitators, mixing and milling equipment, columns, scales, conveyance equipment, storage systems, centrifuges, and control systems. May be exposed to loud noises, wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic chemicals, extreme hot and cold depending on weather conditions. Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevations of 175 feet. Must be able to speak and listen clearly. Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy. Travel required or as needed.
