Pa plant files bankruptcy, hopes to sell within 6 months Bionol Clearfield LLC won't be restarting this fall after all - at least not under the current ownership. 	Dow, Mitsui partner for ethanol-to-biopolymers venture in Brazil The Dow Chemical Company has formed a joint venture with Japan-based investment firm Mitsui & Co. Ltd. to produce sugarcane ethanol and renewable biopolymers at a facility in Brazil. READ MORE SHARE
Jury awards Abengoa $48.4 million in lawsuit over 2006 mistake A mistake by Chicago Title Insurance Co. caused Abengoa Bioenergy to put on hold plans to build a second ethanol plant in Colwich, Kan., and build instead in Madison, Ill. Sundrop attracts new investment, plans green gasoline demo plant The combined $175 million in investment funds will enable Sundrop to expand its operations and begin construction next year of a commercial demonstration facility to produce 40 MMgy of cellulosic gasoline, with production expected for 2014. EU approves first set of biofuel sustainability schemes The European Union approved the first set of voluntary sustainability schemes for biofuels as required by the Renewable Energy Directive.
