Ethanol industry wages top other industries in Nebraska


Fifty-eight percent. That's how much wages in Nebraska's ethanol industry have increased over the last decade. That's an increase from $35,000 to $56,000, according to figures from the Nebraska Department of Labor.

Hankinson ethanol plant installing demo-scale anaerobic digester


Hankinson Renewable Energy LLC, a 120 MMgy ethanol plant in Hankinson, N.D., is in the process of starting up an anaerobic digester to produce 54 MMBtu of biogas a year, according to David Rein, a process engineer with Rein & Associates.

Airshow performer and pilot of the Fagen Inc.-sponsored ethanol plane Greg Poe, 57, died suddenly of an apparent heart attack on July 24. Considered to be one of the best aerobatic performers, Poe had racked up more than 10,000 flight hours.
