Sens. bring biofuels to post-Sandy N.J., address climate change New Jersey Sens. Ethanol plant idles, plans to restart when conditions improve The oldest ethanol plant in Indiana has temporarily idled. "Our goal is to restart the plant and recall our employees but at this point it's hard to say when that will occur," said Russ Abarr, president of New Energy Corp., a 102 MMgy plant. READ MORE SHARE
India gets cellulosic demonstration plant, new bioenergy plan Praj Industries Ltd. is developing a 10 million liter (2.64 million gallon) cellulosic ethanol demonstration plant in India. Coproducts partially offset ethanol margins for The Andersons The Andersons Inc. has released financial results for the third quarter of 2012. For its ethanol group, The Andersons reported an operating loss, but noted in its filing that service income and income from coproducts, partially offset lower margins. READ MORE SHARE
Copersucar and Eco-Energy join ethanol operations Eco-Energy Inc. and Copersucar S.A. have announced the internationalization of their ethanol operations with a joint investment in Eco-Energy to build and expand their integrated biofuel platform, becoming the largest ethanol trader in the world. Industry reacts to re-election of President Obama Members of the ethanol industry are extending their congratulations to President Barack Obama, who will go on to a second term in the White House. Hugoton project moves forward with Televent contract Abengoa Bioenergy has selected Telvent GIT S.A. to design, manufacture and program a distributive control system for its 25 MMgy cellulosic ethanol plant under construction in Hugoton, Kan., another sign that the project is steadily moving forward. Scientists propose new ILUC analysis method A recent research paper proposes the use of a new method to calculate land use change, referred to as baseline time accounting.
