Grants help develop sorghum feedstock program in California Calgren Renewable Fuels, Aemetis Inc. and Pacific Ethanol Inc. each received a $3 million matching grant from the California Energy Commission's Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program to support sorghum feedstock development. Cosan reports increased ethanol production in Q2 results Brazil-based Cosan recently released financial results for the second quarter, reporting a 16 percent increase in EBITDA for its Raizen Energia business unit, which comprises its sugar, ethanol and cogeneration operations. READ MORE SHARE
St1 Biofuels to develop cellulosic ethanol plant in Finland North European Bio Tech Oy has made an investment decision concerning the construction of a bioethanol plant on the Renforsin Ranta industrial estate in Kajaani, Finland. Geneticists develop tree biomass crop to grow on marginal land Two Virginia Tech researchers have received a $1.4 million grant to investigate the genetic regulatory networks that will allow an important bioenergy crop to be bred so it will grow in less than ideal soils and climate. READ MORE SHARE
