EPA: 2014 cellulosic RIN generation tops 33 million


The U.S. EPA has released renewable identification number (RIN) generation data for December, reporting that more than 8.53 million cellulosic RINs were generated during the month, bringing the total for 2014 to 33.01 million.

Ethanol plant brings 85 cent E85 to Minnesota


A Minnesota ethanol producer is having success with its efforts to provide E85 directly to gas retailers, bringing low-priced E85 to Minnesota. On Jan. 12, one retail gas station was selling E85 for only 85 cents thanks to a price promotion program.

Pacific Ethanol to install cogeneration system at Stockton plant


Pacific Ethanol Inc. has announced an agreement with Dresser-Rand to install a 3.5 MW cogeneration system with gradual oxidizer at its Stockton, California, plant for approximately $12 million. The system is expected to be operational in 2016.
