ADM reports strong Q1 earnings, in spite of weak ethanol margins


Archer Daniels Midland Co. reported solid earnings for the first quarter, even though its corn processing segment was down due to tight ethanol margins. Overall, ADM reported adjusted earnings per share of 77 cents for the quarter.

Murphy USA has released financial results for the first quarter, reporting that while the company's Texas ethanol plant generated an operating loss during the first three months of the year, the plant set records in terms of production and yield.

The Andersons report lower Q1 earnings at 14 cents per share


Net income was down substantially, but still in the black for Ohio-based The Andersons Inc. Its ethanol group achieved record first quarter ethanol production volumes and saw E85 sales progress to a first quarter record as well.

On May 6, Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy LLC announced its unaudited financial results for the three and six months ended March 31, 2015. SIRE reported net income for the six months ended March 31 of $6.9 million, or $519.10 per basic unit.
