EPA: 12.39 million cellulosic RINs generated in November The U.S. EPA has released renewable identification number (RIN) data for November, reporting that more than 1.49 billion RINs were generated during the month, including more than 12.39 million cellulosic RINs. READ MORE SHARE
Obama signs spending bill, tax extenders legislation On Dec. 18, President Obama signed a $1.1 trillion spending bill and accompanying legislative package of tax extenders into law. The legislation includes two-year extensions of several tax credits that benefit the bioenergy sector. READ MORE SHARE
	The Andersons expands Michigan ethanol facility The Andersons Inc. has announced plans to double capacity of its ethanol plant in Albion, Michigan. ICM Inc., which constructed the original plant, is contracted to build the expansion. The expansion project is expected to be complete in April 2017. READ MORE SHARE
RISC notice includes projected 2017 RFS rulemaking timeline A notice published in the Federal Register by the Regulatory Information Service Center includes a projected timeline for the U.S. EPA's rulemaking for the 2017 renewable fuel standard (RFS) volume obligations. READ MORE SHARE
Lincolnway Releases fiscal year financial results Lincolnway Energy LLC has released financial results for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, reporting net income of $2.7 million, or $63.06 per unit, down from $18.1 million, or $428.70 per unit, for the prior fiscal year. READ MORE SHARE
USDA to request extension of residue, biomass field study The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service has published a notice announcing its intention to request a revision and extension of a currently approved information collection for a residue and biomass field survey. READ MORE SHARE
ACE: Restored tax credit to increase availability of E85 Bipartisan congressional approval of recent legislation restoring tax credits for retail fuel station owners who buy equipment to offer alternative fuels could further increase availability of E85 and profitability for retailers. UK consumed more ethanol than biodiesel during second quarter The U.K. Department of Energy and Climate Change has released renewable energy statistics for the second quarter of 2015, reporting ethanol accounted for 57 percent of biofuel consumption during the three-month period. READ MORE SHARE
DOE awards $13.5 million to enhance sorghum for biofuel The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center announced that it will be part of a major collaborative research project to improve sorghum's productivity under resource-limited conditions. ADM to develop new ethanol hub in North Carolina Archer Daniels Midland Co. has announced an agreement with Kinder Morgan Inc. and Bailey Feed Mill to construct a new unit train rail facility and ethanol offloading system in Selma, North Carolina. READ MORE SHARE
RFA analysis shows more automakers have approved E15 An analysis of 2016 model year warranty statements and owner's manuals conducted by the Renewable Fuels Association shows that auto manufacturers explicitly approve E15 use in more than 70 percent of new vehicles. READ MORE SHARE
Praj to begin work on ethanol plant expansion in Argentina Argentina-based ethanol producer Ingenio Tabacal has selected Praj for the expansion of its existing alcohol and ethanol plant. The 800 cubic meter (211,338 gallon) per day plant is located in the Salta province. READ MORE SHARE
Sunoco ethanol plant receives grant for barley malting facility The Sunoco Fulton Ethanol manufacturing facility in Volney, New York, has received a Central New York Regional Economic Development Grant in the amount of $700,000 to help fund a new $9.1 million barley malting facility.
