Aemetis to acquire Edeniq and its cellulosic technology Aemetis Inc. and Edeniq have entered into a definitive agreement under which Aemetis will acquire all of Edeniq’s outstanding shares in a stock plus cash merger transaction. Pacific Ethanol reports progress with plant improvements Pacific Ethanol Inc. has released first quarter financial results, reporting increased net sales, gross profit and adjusted EBITDA. The company also reported progress with improvements it is making to its ethanol plants. READ MORE SHARE
	Green Plains reports first quarter loss, expects improvement Green Plains reported losses of $24 million in the first quarter of 2016, compared to a loss of $3.3 million the same quarter a year ago. Valero expects improved ethanol margins in second quarter Valero Energy Corp. has released first quarter financial results, reporting the ethanol segment posted $9 million of adjusted operating income for the three-month period, down from $12 million during the same period of last year. ADM reports strong Q1 results for sweeteners, bioproducts down In a tough environment for agribusiness, Archer Daniels Midland Co. reported first quarter earnings per share of 42 cents, down from 78 cents in the same period a year ago. 	USDA: Corn use for fuel alcohol at 431 million bushels in March The USDA National Agriculture Statistics Service has released the May edition of its Grain Crushing and Co-Products Production report, which shows corn consumed for fuel alcohol production was down slightly in March when compared to March 2015. The Andersons report Q1 loss, positive cash position for ethanol The Andersons Inc. reported a net loss of $14.7 million for the first quarter, with a pre-tax loss of $17.4 million in the grain group offsetting positive results for the rail and plant nutrient groups. READ MORE SHARE
Novozymes reports slight decrease in bioenergy sales In April, Novozymes released first quarter 2016 financial results, reporting that bioenergy sales decreased by 6 percent organically during the quarter. For the full year, the company expects to see a small contraction in bioenergy sales. READ MORE SHARE
USDA: FSFL program now includes microloan option The USDA has updated its Farm Storage Facility Loan Program, which provides low-interest financing so agricultural producers can build or upgrade permanent facilities to store commodities.
