Court approves Abengoa plant sales, closings expected in 30 days


The sale of Abengoa’s five first-generation plants was given final approval by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court on Aug. 29. The judge will be signing the sales orders, which provides court approval that the assets are to be sold free and clear.

USDA: Corn use for fuel ethanol up in July


The USDA has released its September Grain Crushings and Co-Products Production report, noting total corn consumed for alcohol and other uses was 508 million bushels in July, up 6 percent from June and up 1 percent when compared to July 2015.

Mexican government issues ethanol blending regulation


The Energy Regulatory Commission of Mexico published its fuel regulation in the Mexican federal register on Aug. 29, allowing for the blending and sale of up to 5.8 percent ethanol in the nation’s fuel supply outside of the three metropolitan areas.

Rex American Resources Corp. has released second quarter financial results, reporting net sales and revenue of $115.7 million, up from $113.5 million during the same quarter of 2015. Gross profit for the second quarter was $17.3 million.
