US ethanol organizations applaud Mexico’s adoption of E10 The Mexican Energy Regulatory Commission has announced a change that will increase the maximum amount of ethanol that can be blended in gas supplies from 5.8 percent to 10 percent, except in the cities of Monterrey, Guadalajara and Mexico City. UNICA reports continued delays in sugarcane harvest UNICA, the Brazilian sugarcane industry association, has announced 31.59 million tons of sugarcane were processed by mills in the south-central region during the second half of May, down 2.83 percent when compared to the same period of last year. Biofuel groups applaud senate hearing RVP waiver bill On June 14, the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works held a hearing on legislation that aims to extend the 1 pound per square inch (psi) Reid vapor pressure (RVP) waiver to gasoline blends that contain more than 10 percent ethanol.
