Poet Biorefining – Marion broke ground Aug. 15 to expand its production capacity from 70 million gallons per year to 150 million gallons per year. With the groundbreaking, site work has officially begun, with project completion slated for Q3 of 2018.

Brazilian corn ethanol plant begins production


A grand opening was recently held for FS Bioenergia, a $115 million corn-only ethanol production facility in Lucas do Rio Verde, Mato Grosso, Brazil. The project collaboration between Brazil-based Fiagril and U.S.-based Summit Agricultural Group.

EIA maintains 2017, 2018 ethanol production forecasts


The U.S. Energy Information Administration maintains its 2017 and 2018 ethanol production forecasts in its August Short-Term Energy Outlook. Ethanol production is expected average 1.02 million barrels per day in 2017, falling slightly in 2018.
