DuPont announces plans to sell cellulosic ethanol plant DuPont Industrial Biosciences has announced plans to sell its 30 MMgy cellulosic ethanol plant in Nevada, Iowa. The move comes almost exactly two years after the company celebrated the grand opening of the facility in October 2015. READ MORE SHARE
	EPA registers Enerkem to sell cellulosic ethanol under the RFS Enerkem Inc. has received approval from the U.S. EPA to sell cellulosic ethanol produced at its Edmonton, Alberta, facility under the U.S. Renewable Fuels Standard. Enerkem expanded the Edmonton facility to produce ethanol earlier this year. READ MORE SHARE
Wolf asks EPA to waive 2017, 2018 RFS RVOs, RFA responds On Nov. 2, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf issued a letter to EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt asking for a nationwide waiver of the 2017 and 2018 Renewable Fuel Standard renewable volume requirements (RVOs). READ MORE SHARE

Gevo announces strategic review, reduces staff at Luverne plant Gevo Inc. has released third quarter financial results, reporting that the company’s management and board of directors are reviewing its strategic and financial operations. Expansion of sugarcane ethanol in Brazil could cut GHG emissions A massive expansion of land use for sugar cane growth in Brazil, and a subsequent increase in ethanol production with the feedstock could reduce global carbon dioxide emissions in the transportation sector by up to 86 percent of 2014 levels. US corn, DDGS compete in Canada for feed grains market share A short hour north of the Montana border, the U.S. Grains Council is exploring the geographic advantage of unit trains carrying U.S. corn and distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) to Canadian feedlots around Lethbridge, Alberta. RFA releases brochure to inform consumers which vehicles use E85 More than 22 million automobiles on U.S. roadways today are flex fuel vehicles (FFVs) that can run on E85. A new brochure released by the Renewable Fuels Association helps consumers determine if their vehicles are FFVs. READ MORE SHARE
More than 200 stations in Minnesota now offer E15 In a landmark development for Minnesota's ethanol industry, there are now 202 stations in the state that offer E15. In 2014, there were 17 stations offering E15 in Minnesota. In 2015, that total rose to 27 and nearly tripled to 61 stations in 2016. READ MORE SHARE
USGC adds overseas staff to boost global presence, grain sales The U.S. Grains Council is adding a new strategic director in Asia and assistant director in Southeast Asia as part of a global resource expansion meant to capture near-term demand for feed grain sales and build long-term demand for ethanol. Aemetis signs feedstock supply agreement for cellulosic ethanol Aemetis Inc. recently announced that its Aemetis Advanced Products Keyes subsidiary signed a 20-year feedstock supply agreement to produce cellulosic ethanol at a former U.S. Army munitions facility located in Riverbank, California. New method makes ethanol from waste in existing plants A research project has been carried out by a doctoral student at the University of Borås shows it is possible to produce bioethanol from agricultural and industrial waste in existing plants in a socioeconomically sustainable way.
