Biofuel projects named as semi-finalists in Ontario competition The Ontario Centres of Excellence have announced 20 semi-finalists for Ontario’s Solutions 2030 Challenge, which calls on innovators to propose solutions to help the province’s industry reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution. Alberta to provide funding to support biofuels, bioenergy In early December, the government of Alberta announced plans to award $1.4 billion over seven years to support innovative projects funded by the Climate Leadership Plan. 	Iowa supermarket adds E15 fuel location Hy-Vee Inc., a chain of supermarkets throughout the Midwest, now offers E15 at five locations across its eight-state region. The Hy-Vee store located at 3120 Agency Street in Burlington, Iowa, is the latest to offer the fuel option. READ MORE SHARE
CropEnergies releases third quarter financial report CropEnergies, a leading European manufacturer of ethanol, released its third quarter financial report Dec. 15. The company saw an operating profit of 12 million euros ($14.3 million), down from 18 million euros during the same quarter of last year. READ MORE SHARE
UNICA: Ethanol production up in late November UNICA, the Brazilian sugarcane industry association, recently released production data for the last two weeks of November, reporting that sales of ethanol increased while the rate of sugarcane milling slowed. READ MORE SHARE

Iowa seeks nominations for renewable fuel marketing awards The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship is encouraging Iowa fuel retailers and gas stations to submit nominations for the Secretary’s Renewable Fuels Marketing Awards.
