EPA releases proposed 2019 RFS RVOs, fails to address waivers


The EPA has proposed to require 19.88 billion gallons of biofuels to be blended into the U.S. fuel supply in 2019, up from 19.29 billion gallons in 2018. The rule allows for 15 billion gallons of corn ethanol, but does not address hardship waivers.

EPA approves isobutanol fuel registration filed by Butamax


The U.S. EPA has issued a letter of notification to Butamax Advanced Biofuels LLC registering isobutanol as a fuel additive for blending into gasoline at levels up to 16 percent. The approval could lead to more widespread blending of the biofuel.
