Following a strong directive from President Trump to lift the outdated regulations stifling E15 fuel, Poet is moving forward with full construction of a new biofuel facility in Shelbyville, Indiana. The facility is scheduled to be complete in 2020.

On Oct. 24, Novozymes released third quarter 2018 financial results, reporting a significant growth in sales for its bioenergy segment. The company said strong growth in demand for enzymes in the conventional biofuel market helped drive the increase.

The USDA recently released the October edition of its Grain Crushings and Co-Products Production report, noting corn use for fuel alcohol reached 479 million bushels in August, down slightly when compared to July and August 2017.

Automakers explicitly approve E15 for 93% of new 2019 vehicles


More than 93 percent of 2019 model year (MY) vehicles are explicitly approved by the manufacturer to use 15 percent ethanol blends (E15), according to the results of an annual analysis of warranty statements and owner’s manuals conducted by the RFA.

Valmet to supply BioTrac system to cellulosic plant in Romania


Valmet has announced it will supply its BioTrac biomass pretreatment system to Clariant for use in its 500,000-ton-per-year (16.74 MMgy) sunliquid cellulosic ethanol plant in Podari, Romania. The facility is expected to begin operations in 2020.
